23yo/M/5'8/170lbs. I run on this 30 mins/day every day. Like the fact that it is compact but sometimes the handles come back and hit me when I'm not holding onto them. The base is sturdy enough for me. Used WD-40 on all screws/bolts during the fairly easy installation. Sometimes it clicks when in use but nothing that some loud music doesnt take care of. All-in-all not a bad little elliptical for the price. If you want something simple and low impact without breaking the bank and not a lot of room to spare, THIS IS IT!

Great elliptical but the noise is a bit of a annoyance. Company said they would sent us replacement parts but the thought of having to put this together all over again does not excite us. Wasn't that difficult because I did not put it together my husband did. I didn't hear any major complaints from him and it went together quickly but still do not want to tear it down and replace the base in order to stop the noise. We shall think about it. Too bad we just had to get the noisey equipment.

It took about an hour to put together. It does have a slight noise to it, but its not too loud and if you have your ipod pumping you won't even hear it. Its pretty smooth when on it, but if you do go very fast it can wobble a bit. But for the price you can't beat if. I feel like I'm at the gym.

I use the elliptical in inclement weather when it is not possible to get out side and exercise. I like its relative small size and extremely quiet operation. The control panel has been updated and is very easy to use. No longer are batteries required as in the previous model, you just plug the unit into the nearest wall outlet and away you go. This is a very well built machine which will last for many years of continued use.

I have really been enjoying my new eclipse 1100. It is pretty easy to set up, I din't even break a nail :) It is quiet and a smooth ride. I do wish the stridelength was a couple inches longer, but overall it is great. I have been using it everyday and I never stick with anything!

After reading many reviews, my husband and I decided on this particular equipment because it seemed a good balance between cost and quality. And it's just that. There's nothing special about it... just a no-nonsense piece of exercise equipment. I assembled the machine by myself and had no real difficulties. I didn't see any of the problems others say they've had. I did have to use a drill to increase the size of some of the plastic holes that a few screws (4 to be precise) went into because they were simply too tight to bother fooling with. Other than that, not a single problem.
Delivery was within specified time limits. Arrived with box in reasonable condition with no internal damage. Haven't needed service so don't know what that would be like.

I did a lot of internet research and found the Eclipse 1100HR/A Elliptical Trainer to be one of the better elliptical trainers for fewer than 500 dollars (according to the internet). My fitness center is closing and I must admit that I am spoiled by the more expensive health club machines but I need to do something, so I purchase this unit. I received it in a timely manor and undamaged. It takes about 45 minutes to put together (unpacking and all) but it is not a difficult task. I started using the unit and found that it gave me BETTER workout that the health club machines. I am use to going 28 minutes at the health club and after 20 on this one I was whipped! I think it has a lot to do with the SHORTER stroke which I do not particular care for. They advertise a 15 inch stroke and it is probably closer to 13 inches. I am 5'11" at 225 pounds and am in FAIR condition. If a purchaser is taller than 5'8" they may find the stroke is short also. However my wife is 5'5" and the unit fits her FINE and she is very fluid on it. If you are below 5'8" and have a limited space on a limited budget then this unit would be ideal for you. It takes up HALF the space as other machines. The machine is very QUITE and after a week of use I checked the screws and had to retighten them. The work out programs is neat but I have some difficulty reading the dark screen. If you are a large person then I would recommend spending more money of a larger machine.

This product was more than what I expected. It is great for me to use because I am unable to make the gym b/c I go to work to early and come home to late. I get a great cardio workout in at home before I head off for the day. It has different levels and programs and good foot room. The only complaint I have is that my 6'2 boyfriend has broad shoulders and if he does not hold the moving handles they hit him in the shoulders. The are not wide enough apart like in the gym for bigger men. It does not do that to me but I am 5'5 without broad shoulders...It was also easy to put together but there were two holes at base that were smaller than the screw so I had to get my boyfriend to make the whole bigger to secure the screw. These things were minor and I am glad I made the investment.

This trainer is great for my morning excercise routine. Its size is perfect for my home office, and easy to use for ten to twenty minutes per day. The range of motion, is limited due to its size but this can be overcome by changing positions on the pedals, and leaning on the handel bars as recommended in the instructions.

Great Machine. Takes awhile to put together(atleast for me). It gives me a nice workout so far. The only thing is it wobbles when using, but I need to tighten some bolts so that could be some of that problem. Overall, I would reccomend it to anyone wanting to stay in shape.

I love this elliptical! I've been working out almost daily since I now have an elliptical at home. I used to go to the gym twice a week but it is so nice to have an elliptical at home. This machine is great for my 5'2" body. My husband who is 6'1" (200 lbs.) found the machine a little small but my 6'1" son (150 lbs.) thinks the elliptical is great.
I assembled the elliptical myself which took a couple hours and I love that once it is assembled, I can roll it to a different spot rather easily.

I am trying to get in some type of exercise routine and felt the best way to go about this is to have an elliptical cross-trainer in my home for my convenience. I am glad that I invested in the exercise machine because a 1st-time-gym- membership would have been a waste of money because I know I would have not been able to go there on a regular basis. I am so out of shape and need to build up some type of endurance & deal with the pain from my old knee injuries, that going to a gym would not have happened. Hopefully, over time, my endurance and muscles will have improved to a level where just maybe I could see myself actually being able to use a gym membership.

I am a middle aged woman and wasn't sure of what I was getting myself into, reading all the reviews, waiting for my elliptical to arrive. Well it couldn't have gone smoother. Though it took a few hours for me to put it together, and remembering what other buyers had warned, I used WD-40 on each screw and joint before putting into place and there isn't a squeak or wobble. Other than a few banged up knuckles, I was good to go...smile.....I don't think you can beat this quality for the price.

I like this elliptical.[...]! It was easy to put together, took about 1 hour. It is a great size for a small apartment, not too big like other machines I have seen. It is quiet, which was very surprising. The only thing is that it does wobble when using it, but I still can get a good workout after a while you get use to it. (It didn't wobble until about 3rd or 4th use.) But I can still get a good workout and the different levels are great, you really do get a good workout. I would recommend this item to anyone who has a tight budget or a small place.

My research determined the Eclipse 1100hr/a to be the best elliptical trainer under $500 based on user and independent reviews. I brought this machine over a month ago and have found it to be fairly good. The machine itself was fairly easy to assemble with clear instructions and individually packaged parts, down to the bolts & screws. It very sturdy with a 3” steel hollow section frame but despite this is easy to move around and compact.One cost concession I think the manufacturer has made is with the quality of the computer, which appears to be rather cheap, with a wobbly dial to control resistance (versus push buttons), and a very basic display, which is not even backlit. The pulse monitor is also completely inaccurate (I do stop moving to take it as per instructions). However the other functions appear to be consistent and accurate. I haven’t utilised the preset programs yet as I am not fit enough to keep up at this stage, but having this option is a bonus to combat boredom.The only other negative issue I have had with this machine is intermittent squeaks, creaks and clicks in the working mechanism. The moving arms also creak when used. The bolts are tight and it doesn’t happen when they moving independently, ie. when I am holding the stationary bars[...].Overall, despite the minor issues, I would recommend this machine to others.

This is a pretty good machine for under [$]. It should not be compared to a health club class machine, but compared to models of similar price range. The elliptical was very easy to set up. Instructions were very clear. There was one bolt that didn't seem line up easily on one of the arms, but that was it.I highly recommend re-tightening the parts after a few uses. I believe a little easy maintenance is to be expected.This is very compact, yet surprisingly was big enough for someone my height (5'10"). It has a little more resistance on even the lowest level than I am used to, but I think that is a benefit. I have bad knees, and this is smooth enough where it does not hurt them, like a treadmill will.The main con that I have is that there is a grinding noise. It is a minor complaint, but annoying because I do not know how fix it. I took care of the initial squeaks just by tightening everything, but the grinding seems to be in the enclosed portion of the machine. I am hoping to research and find a way to fix that. It is not too loud (I can still hear the TV fine), but I am worried that this might lead to a broken or improperly worn part. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase. If you can not afford a higher end model, I recommend considering this elliptical.
The delivery was surprisingly quick. The box came damaged (including the Styrofoam), but that could very well have been caused by the delivery company. The product was intact and everything worked.

I have been using the eclipse 1100hr/a elliptical trainer for over 2 weeks now. It was pretty easy to put together, although it helps to use a decent screwdriver rather than the one provided. Instructions were clear and screws and bolts were separately packaged and labelled. It has a very sturdy yet compact frame, unlike some cheaper brands, and is quite easy to move from room to room. The computer is far from flash, (has a rather budget looking dial for program/resistance selection), however it does the job. I am not sure how the speed is calculated (it is faster than walking speed) but it is consistant. The calorie counter seems to differ from the calorie counter on my treadmill (slower) - but I believe it could be counting fat calories(?). The pulse sensors are quite inaccurate (I do stop exercising as directed to measure it).The other negative is that it makes intermittent squeaks/noises in the moving mechanism. The moving arms also squeak (the bolts are tight) when I use them but do not if I hold the stationary bars.Overall though, for the money, I think it is quite a good machine and certainly gives a good workout.[...]

My wife and I bought this due to its small size. Yet it is very comfortable and well built. Keep in mind that this probably won't work for taller/larger folks. My wife and I are smaller people. Setup is quick with only a few screws to install. Instructions were straightforward. I was shocked at how much of a workout I got on the lowest setting. This for someone who exercisesly regularly. My wife and I couldn't be happier!

I am 53 years old and had knee surgery in November, walking is impossible for me at this time. I was able to assemble the elliptic myself and use it at least 5 times a week. The machine is easy to move around, it makes no noise, and is great for my knees. I really like it and would highly recommend it for anyone with knee problems or without knee problems. It is great!!

It was a no hassle order[...] It took quite a bit of time to assemble, but it was simple to do and with good instructions. The operation is smooth, it is very quiet, has a quality feel, and the unit is well built and sturdy. I would prefer more travel, but it is fine for daily home use. We have it in front of the TV, and it gets lots of use. A minor beef is that the operating instructions for the computer/setup programs are on a separate sheet of paper, and not in the operating manual - we completely missed those instructions when first starting out. Bottom line - it's very good value.

A bit loud, but nothing the volume button on the tv can't handle. a good buy for the home exerciser... a bit shaky for my 6', 200lb husband, but he doesn't feel like it will collapse/tip, and its not too small for him. Doesn't shake much when i'm on it (~130 lbs). Be sure to tighten all bolts every couple weeks.

This elliptical is great for working out at home. It is not the same as the heavy duty machines that you'll find at a gym, but the workout is pretty comparable. The number of calories burned isn't really accurate because there is no way to input your weight and age, but that shouldn't deter you. The instructions for set up are very clear, and I was able to put it together by myself in an hour. It is not very big so it doesn't take up much space, and it wheels easily so you can store it or move it around without a problem. I bought the 4 year extended warranty just in case anything goes wrong, and I heard that this company's warranty is the best around.

my wife likes it better than I do, maybe in time I'll change my mind. While it is built well with a smooth operation, it is unstable and wabbles back and forth during use. Even putting my feet on both inside edges, I still feel my stance is to far apart, it feels awkward. When I put my hands on the stable hand rest that checks your heart rate, my elbows hit the moving swing arm. Maybe it will just take some time to get used to.

Love this machine. Had to sell it because I was moving and couldn't fit it in the Uhaul. I might try to buy it used again because it was very convenient. However, does not fold up so you need some room for it somewhere. It does have wheels that make moving it easier. Also, some small pieces of the wheel frame broke the first week I got it. It didn't affect the performance though, and I used the machine 3-4 times a week for at least a year. Very good deal for the price, but not many extras.

-After doing my research on the best possible elliptical to meet my needs and at a affordable price range I came to the conclusion that this was the one..In Todays economy with gas prices and the cost of gym memberships this seemed like a reasonable investment.[...] It was a little heavy to get upstairs by myself but no real problem once unpacked.The elliptical comes partially assembled out of the box which is good..The instructions to put it together appear very simple and the tools needed are also included.I read in the reviews about problems people were having with the screws and having to possibly drill out holes,so I decided to be a little creative and lubricated all of the screws before using and had NO problems putting this trainer together..Once the elliptical was completely together in about an hour I did my first 60 minute session.Im 6'0 ft tall and had no problems with the pedals..The monitor appeared to be working fine and I checked my heart rate and went thru the different programs..The only area of improvement I have observed were the dual action handlebars.they seem to have a little too much play and can work the screws a loose..no big problem just tighten them..also possibly a place for your Ipod.The trainer does not take up a lot of room and can easily fit in any corner of any room and is easy to store which I like.I found this trainer to be relatively quiet about the same as any trainer I would get on in the gym.I expect to get much use out of this elliptical,saving gas to and from the neareast gym and park as well as those rainy cold days when u need to stay in but still will be able to maintain your fitness needs.

Easy assembly, but take your time. The parts were bubble wrapped on a card and that made it easy to ensure you have what you need before assembly.

Item broke down after 5 months. Repeated contact, via telephone and e-mail, with the company to exercise warranty was useless. Not a worthwhile product or company to deal with.
Many screws did not fit properly masking it difficult to set up. Item also requires constant attention to screw tightness.

Overall it was a good purchase. One complaint would be the sturdiness. We had to lift one side with a thin board to keep it level. This product is cheap for a reason. The day I set this up I used it, it started making a thunking noise. The way it was setup one of the sides didn't have a bolt threaded in the proper direction. After a few fixes which I thought would get it, it just finally snapped. Do no buy this you will regret it.

Our machine sees a lot of use. I exercise for 90 minutes 5 days every week. My wife also exercises daily, but is not as regimented. This is our second Eclipse 1100HR/A. This is a great machine for someone on a tight budget. It has many features that are simply not available on any other machine of comparable price (e.g. magnetic resistance, HR monitor, and user-friendly control panel). That said, it is not very sturdy, it has a short stride length, and it generates a lot of creaking noises. Fortunately, I have found that lubricating the joints can reduce the noise significantly, so please take the time to maintain the machine. Overall, it is a great machine for someone looking to improve their general fitness or to lose weight. I have NEVER been able to get the electrical part to read to the function of the glide or movement. This trainer is compact and that is about the best thing you can say about it. It would make a good clothes hangar. This machine fell apart after about 6 months of around 1 to 2 miles daily use. The arm that holds the foot petal to the crank, broke a weld and was non-fixable. Do your self a favor and buy Sole. This is a much more expensive machine but will last you for years.

I did a great deal of research before buying this particular elliptical. I needed something effective but that would not take up a lot of space. I also needed something low impact as my husband has bad knees. [...]. We put it together in less than an hour. The first thing we noticed is that for its small footprint it is well made and quite sturdy.We each took a turn on it and last all of about 5 minutes! LOL This is a heck of a work out. We have had this about a month and I have not lost a lot of weight but I have lost A LOT of inches. My legs and behind show a big difference and my abs and upper body is starting to show improvements. I wish I had bought this a year ago. My husband is able to use this pretty much daily with no knee pain or other adverse effects.I highly recommend this elliptical for anyone who wants a reasonably priced, well built elliptical.The only con we have found is that if you are much taller than 5'9-10" the stride may be to short for you. Overall I have been happy with my eliptical, however there are some draw backs. I will start with the drawbacks: there is an oily goo that oozes from the joints. When I start working out it sounds as if something is breaking, and makes me paranoid that something is about to break. The heart rate monitor seems to be inaccurate, but if you keep you hands on the hrt. rate monitors long enough it will give you a ball park of what your rate is.
I am happy with it so far. I work out on it 4-5 times a week and I have not had any problems. Again I do feel like something sounds like it is about to break when I start off. I like the different workouts, and the different features. It is easy to set up, but you may need to use your own socket set.

I have been using the elliptical for over one month now. I am enjoying it very much. It has been extremely easy to use and changing the settings has not been difficult at all. It is the perfect size for my bedroom and easy to transport on wheels if necessary. Considering the thousands one can spend on the more 'fancy' models I am extremely pleased with what I got for my money. It is very quiet so I just pop in my favorite DVD, get on and before you know it I have had a nice workout.

This machine is a great workout! It has more resistance then most of the machines at the gym but it isn't so hard that a beginner couldn't use it. I got this so that I would have something to use when I didn't have time to go to the gym. The only flaw that I have found is that the monitor is very innacurate. The only thing that is accurate is the time. The distance and calories are way off. Having used numerous machines at the gym I just know that there is no way I can do 12 miles in a hour and have only burned 140 calories. But the machine works great so if I really want a more accurate count I will just buy one that you wear. Other than that it is a great workout, and I highly recomend it!

Excellent as an entry-level machine, can't beat the price. The set-up instructions were easy to follow, and I was pleased to find that it came with an a/c adapter rather than requiring batteries. The only negatives I have found are that it is a bit shaky but not terribly so, and it squeaks a little bit after being on it after about 5 minutes, but it's not so loud that I feel the need to stop. All in all, a bargain for the money spent.
Note the heavy shipping weight, I live in a 3rd floor apartment so getting it inside was not easy - it took a few friends.

I spent a lot of time researching ellipticals before deciding on this one. The warranty is the best I could find in this price range. The machine was easy to set up although I have had to tighten the bolts a few times. I am using it at least three times a week and can already feel my endurance and strength improving. It does make a little more noise than I would like, but it's compact size make it perfect for my tiny house. I can feel the front lifting sometimes, but can compensate by correcting my position. My ten year old daughter loves to use it also. The programs are great. That was one feature I needed to have so I could vary my workout. Overall, I am very satisfied with this machine.

I have been using this almost every day since I got it about a month and 1/2 ago. It's great! It's easy to use and I feel like I'm getting a great workout in a short amount of time. I'm definitely getting my money's worth out of this purchase!
I called customer service to get an idea of when it might be delivered since I was going to be out of town for a couple of days and didn't want to miss it. Later that day I got a tracking number so I could check on the status of the shipment. No problems here, it was delivered on time and in great condition. Customer service was very helpful.

Well being a former Marine whose been out for a few years, it got me back into shape in about a month and a half after receiving it (also lossed about 6 LBS, used it 3 to 4 times a week). After owning it for about 3 months the joint that connected to the orbital became loose and started to come out. Overall very good for improving fitness levels but to me it is not very durable. Since it is under warranty waiting for the new one. Thenn I"ll she how long it will last since I am raising the intensity of my workouts.

I quit working out at the YMCA to save money. All I really used was their Precor ellipticals and lifted weights. Due to an injury, I could not work out for a year and decided to buy this machine. I was not expecting much considering I was used to a Precor. However, the unit works great and does everything I need. If you are tall it may be too small for you. I am 5'8" and it works fine.

I love this product since it is very quite so I can use it while My 2 children are asleep. It was made sturdy and it gives a great workout. I have always had bad hips so working out is not always comfortable but my hips don't hurt after working out with the elliptical. A little knee pain the first time but after that it didn't hurt at all. And that is a miracle since my hips always hurt after working out even for a few minutes.
I had some problems putting it together but it was just the protectors for the wheels. The plastic thing that is there before you put the wheels in. It is hard to get them out and I cut my finger trying to get them out but other than that it was pretty easy. Over all it is great and I use it everyday. At least 20 minutes, well at least to start. What they recommend. A great buy for the price.

I use the machine at least 4 times a week since I got it at the end of December. I like it a lot. My wife is not having such good luck and feels it is uncomfortable for her.
My only complaint is the documentation is lacking. I need better instructions/explanation of the features, how to use recovery, the built-in programs, etc. Need much more comprehensive manual. I looked on your web site for more info but didn't have any luck there either.

We had the Eclipse 1000 that wasn't great but worth the $ and when it dies we decided to get the upgrade. This is a really uncomfortable machine, standing anywhere on the platforms, the moving arm bars go so far back that they are behind your shoulders and your elbows are flexed to a very uncomfortable position. The photo of the woman working out on this is just not true. I guess it's possible that the one we have is somehow bent. . .but I suppose you just get what you pay for. [$] totally wasted.

It paid for itself in no time. It's much easier to get to than a gym, so I saved on gym membership, plus gas. Provides a great workout, with adjustable programs to make it harder as I get in better shape. I've already lost 15 lbs! The front does lift off the floor a bit, as the frame is so light, but I can also move it around the house easily, so it's worth the trade off.

I wanted to get an elliptical that I could easily use at home when my schedule doesn't allow me to get to the gym. For the money, this is a great elliptical. I did quite a bit of research and found that the reviews on this one were the best for the price range I was looking for. It is compact, so it fits in a smaller storage area than most. The only negative would be that I had to re-tighten some of the bolts after I used it a couple of times. But, I put it together all by myself in about an hour. Great deal for the money!!

Very impressed by quality of the materials used. It is very sturdy. You can get a very hard workout due to the flexible programming. The manual is not totally clear, but with a bit of trial and error, you can figure out the controls.

I use the trainer about 2 times a week to go along with my Tae Bo routine. I use it to strengthen my legs for mountain biking. I love it for the price but wish it had an incline feature like the eliiptical trainers at the gym. I guess you get what you pay for and this was rather inexpensive compared to the ones at the gym. Would highly recommend for a home gym for a great leg strengthening and cardio machine.

The elliptical is great, but I have a history of knee problems because of rheumatoid arthritis. I ended up with torn cartilage in the back of my knee and arthroscopic surgery. The surgeon suggested that I not use the elliptical.

I use it 4 to 5 times a week for 40 minutes on different programs. No matter what program 40 minutes is 8 miles but depending on the difficulty you can burn more calories and have a tougher workout. I like the different programs and degree of difficulty because it can always be challenging and your body doesn't get used to it.

I was looking for something for my apartment that was quiet, inexpensive, sturdy, and didn't take up a lot of space. This fit the bill. It was easy to put together. The hardest thing was getting it out of the box (I'm 5'2", not the strongest, and did it on my own, so this part took awhile, but it can be done!) The manual and hardware kit were easy to understand and well organized. From opening the box to the end, it took me a little over an hour, but I also cleaned the packing foam as I went. When I use it on carpet, it wobbles just a bit but not enough for me to feel unsafe. For the price and size, I was very surprised at how sturdy it actually is. I use this product everyday. Although it is taking me time to get up to a full cardio workout just because I am used to a treadmill, I am enjoying the challenge. The greatest thing about this elliptical is that it has it's own programs built it and let me tell you they are a workout. My husband assembled what was needed and he found this to be a very durably built piece of machinery. I have owned this elliptical for about 2 weeks. It took about 30 min. to put it together. Too much grease on it for sure!! I use it 4 days a week, but switch off between it and a recumbent bike, so only using it about 10-15 min. so far for those days. The first few times, it squeaked a lot and moved while using it. I tighted the bolts up twice, finally almost overtightening and now there is only slight noise. I fear I will be tightening again! It does still move while I'm using it, but not so much it would tip over. I'm not a little girl (5'9", 218 lbs), but that's why I'm using it! It's rated up to 275 lbs., so I can't imagine the movement/rocking with someone of that weight on it! The screen on it is not wonderful, but suits the purpose. I'd say you get what you pay for with this machine. It was [$]. I think the expensive machines are highly overpriced however!
